COVID-19

Dear Crossville FUMC Church Family,

This afternoon, our church staff family had an emergency meeting regarding procedures that we needed to take on the COVID-19 virus.  We know that this a very, very serious concern and we aren’t taking of any this lightly.  We do also know that God is in control and as in 2 Timothy 1:7, God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.God did also give us and our higher church leadership a sound mind as well to make the best decisions for our family of faith while living out our mission to communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ. In that fact, our Bishop and our District Superintendent have recommended that we cancel all worship services, groups, meetings (both church and community related), after school, Wednesday Night Live, and basically anyone or anything in our building after the funeral tomorrow (around 3:30 p.m.) until Sunday, March 29th.  Right now, we are calling all outside groups as well and will be suspending all keycards to prevent entry into the building until the 29th. Please note that we will be postponing the offering for the Tornado victims we were going to have this Sunday until a later date.

Even though we aren’t physically meeting, Pastor Steven or Pastor Louis will be recording the sermon so everyone can come together on Facebook at 10:00 a.m.on both Sunday mornings, March 15th and March 22nd.  Also, Pastor Steven and Pastor Louis have video access to our Facebook page and can record updates as often as they need to.

To watch the feed on Sunday morning or to see regular Facebook updates, you can do so by going to http://www.facebook.com/CrossvilleFUMC/. You do not have to have an active Facebook account to be able to watch.  You can also view on our Youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/Crossvillefumc.

In addition to worship, we know many of you might be concerned about your tithes during this time as well.  If you would like to give your tithes and offerings by mail, you can do so by sending to Crossville FUMC, PO Box 752, Crossville, TN 38557.

We also have an online option available on our website.  You can go there directly by clicking http://www.crossvillefumc.com/egiving/ and registering for an account. You can donate by bank account or credit/debit card.  Please note that there are some fees associated with this and the church will not get the entire amount so you may want to add about 3-4% onto your offering if you would like to offset the costs.

Even though the plan as of now is to meet for worship on March 29th, we think it is wise to cancel the 5th Sunday brunch on that day.  We also won’t resume Wednesday Night Live until after Holy Week.  As far as Holy Week Noon and Maundy Thursday services, we will be meeting again on March 30th and will let you know if we need to make any changes to the schedule at that time.

Again, we do recommend that you apply proper handwashing and personal isolation procedures that you feel necessary to protect you and your family. And remember we love you and our prayers are with you and with our world during this incredibly difficult time.

Remember, God will take care of us all.

Sincerely,

Pastor Steven, Pastor Louis, and Your Crossville Church Staff Family
